Why We Do This

This Isn't New For Ron.

Back in the early 1990s, Ron Reichert was running Mr. Tap — his Alberta plumbing company. When the Alberta Lung Association needed help, Ron didn't send a cheque. He showed up. He cut vinyl signs, made banners, donated materials, and gave his time — crediting his company for the donation so others could see that local businesses could lead by example.

That was over 30 years ago. The tools have changed — Ron now builds websites instead of cutting vinyl — but the instinct is exactly the same. Local expertise, donated to a cause that deserves it.

internetWorld.ca Corp donates one complete website build per month to a qualifying Alberta non-profit. Ron's time, hosting, and year-one maintenance are fully donated. There is no big catch. Out-of-pocket costs like your domain name are yours — just like the materials were yours back then.

"I gave my plumbing company the credit — but it was always about the community. That hasn't changed."

— Ron Reichert, Founder, internetWorld.ca Corp.

Ron’s time, the website build, 12 months of hosting, and year-one maintenance are fully donated by internetWorld.ca Corp. Out-of-pocket costs that we cannot absorb — such as your template license fees, domain name registration, premium plugins, or stock photography — remain the organization’s responsibility. Think of it the same way a tradesperson donates their labour but can’t donate the materials.

We prefer to work with registered Alberta non-profits, community centres, sports clubs, and charities. However, non-registered organizations with a clear community mission may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Tell us about your cause and we’ll review it fairly.

One. We accept one organization per month on a first-come, first-reviewed basis. Each application is personally reviewed by Ron Reichert within one week of submission.

Once selected, your website is built and launched within 30 days — often faster. We work efficiently because we use high-performance WordPress templates that are pre-configured for speed, reliability, and mobile responsiveness.

At the 12-month mark we review the hosting arrangement. We aim to continue where possible but reserve the right to discontinue hosting with reasonable notice. Your cPanel access means your content is always yours — you can migrate to another host at any time.

Yes. You receive full cPanel access and, if your team has WordPress skills, you can update content directly. We utilize templates specifically so organizations can manage their own sites without needing a developer for every change. All website content must remain legal, appropriate, and consistent with the mission stated in your application. internetWorld.ca Corp reserves the right to suspend or disconnect the website immediately and without notice if content violates Canadian law, misrepresents the organization, or strays from the approved charitable purpose. No exceptions.

The donated scope covers the build, hosting, and maintenance for year one. Not included: domain registration, premium third-party plugins, stock photography, custom coding beyond the template, WordPress training, and email setup beyond basic cPanel accounts. Any out-of-pocket costs are discussed and agreed before we begin.

Yes — you own your website and all your content completely. The WordPress template is built on a pre-purchased license held by internetWorld.ca Corp. A $95 template license fee is required and must be paid in full before any work begins. This is the only mandatory out-of-pocket cost in the program. Once paid, the license is yours and the website is yours — you can host it anywhere, with anyone, at any time.

All organizations must operate within Canadian federal and Alberta provincial law. Your website content, fundraising activities, and organizational conduct must remain lawful and aligned with the mission you described in your application. internetWorld.ca Corp is donating infrastructure and expertise — not endorsing your organization’s activities. We reserve the right to disconnect hosting immediately and without notice if we become aware of any illegal activity, misrepresentation, or conduct that conflicts with our values as an Alberta business. We take our community reputation seriously and will act to protect it.
